All of us here at Lord Jesus Ministry in Asia truly hope you have the happiest New Year in 2012. Those of you following us know we have made a lot of changes for the New Year. One of those changes was our school near the village Gangnapur now begins the new academic school year in January. This year classes open in session on the 16th of January. Our annual start up costs just for a new school year alone in Gangnapur is about $1750 USD for new textbooks, uniforms, and all the various school supplies needed for our students who live in our Orphanage Home with 24 hour care. Also, two of our students require prayers and costly medical attention at this time.

We currently do not have the resources to provide a high school for our students on our own. This is very costly, and two of our students are currently enrolled in a nearby high school of which we have been bearing the expense. Next year in 2013, we expect three more of our students to join them. Their books, fees, and uniforms, etc. are also very costly in addition to what we require for our own school in the village. Their new session will start later this spring in April. Currently, we require for our two students about $155 USD each just for their annual enrollment, over $67 USD each for books, and approximately $23 USD per month each for their fees. All of this amounts to about $980 USD per year for both of them.

Our school in Namchi begins in early February and their annual start up costs last year were about $750 USD for their books and supplies but the annual rent of all our property there is also due for $1000 USD placing the total expenses there at an equal $1750 USD. We need to purchase these supplies by mid-January in order to receive them on time for the new school year’s start. textbooks

Last fall there was a severe earthquake in the region damaging our church in Namchi badly as well. We also faced some challenges last fall in shortages of funds causing us to take on some debt. We have as of yet been unable to properly assist them in the much needed repairs as we have not had any funds to aid them. All of these factors have severely limited us in the meantime from affording our normal operating costs of running our ministry properly. Many things have been delayed or cut severely and most have been cancelled or shut down completely for the time being.

In summary, we pay close to $4500 USD annually to educate our own children who are currently in our programs. This excludes any other opportunities to help others or to add additional children to our programs. Nor does this include our costs in providing for their room, board, and medical care, etc. It was reported in the Times of India today on malnutrition in India that:

A child dies every 15 seconds in India due to neonatal diseases while 2 million children die before reaching their fifth birthday. Over four hundred thousand newborns are dying every year within 24 hours of life in the country. Over 20% of the world’s child deaths occur in India – the largest number anywhere in the world. One in three of all malnourished children in the world live in India. A child who has severe acute malnutrition is at least nine times more likely to die than a child who does not.

We are looking for monthly sponsors for our children and for the teachers who volunteer to teach at our schools. They take a much lower salary than they could get outside to work in our schools. Due to the recent financial struggles many have received reduced salaries and some none at all. You can find out how to sponsor a child by clicking below at:

We would appreciate your faithful prayers and support at this time for God’s timely provision for us in this wilderness stage of our ministry in order to bring us into His promise for us in the New Year of 2012! God Bless you all!
