Roof Update 2011

It has been nearly TEN LONG years with the dispute over our ministry’s registered office and the childhood home of Carlton Rixon (and where he began his own family), where his mother, a widow, a sister with children who also is a widow, and many other family members including children reside at present. Once again, we face another year of the monsoons bearing down upon us.

New elections just now have wrapped up, and we are all waiting to find out what this could mean in helping us. A new party is on the rise and has taken power in the state of West Bengal. We hope this means a new chance at justice, but also this is a possibility of even greater corruption as the people who have been most problematic have switched parties to further their injustices and abuse. Recent storms have ripped the plastic off and the walls have taken in quite a bit of moisture at the home. We ask you to continue to join us in prayer over this delicate issue. Please pray for Carlton and his family, especially his mother, Patsy, who is a widow and who just wants some peace in her life after so many years of discrimination because of their Christian faith.

We saw God move mightily and quickly when it bubbled over in the case of our chicken farm’s property near one of our schools. We have waited patiently on the Lord for many years for the repair of our roof, and we thought we had a small window of opportunity to proceed a while back — only to see that hope snuffed out for the moment.

While everyone seems to be excited about a new party coming to power locally in Kolkata, it seems more apparent to us that too much is at stake as corruption will be very high as we saw all the proverbial rats leaving the sinking ship to run to the new party in order to line up for even more injustices than before. Thus, the former party whose faithful have remained would have been much more stable and much better to hear our repeated appeals rather than a new party with so many new items on their agenda that a 10 year old roof won’t matter to them much. We hope this is not the case after all and that the new party will bring significant changes to the atmosphere here locally and across the state.

We are seeing at the very top a lot of former corruption being handled as the new party from the top is tackling many of the previous party’s injustices at present. Basically, it would appear that we have to start much of the process over again meeting new people in old positions, and we just have to see. In the end, we know no matter what takes place, it is all merely in the hands of God. We are standing with Him in full faith and know that you all are standing with us as well.

We seriously covet your prayers at this time as always. Thank you for your continued and faithful support of our ministry. The Rixon’s want to make it clear that they are not in need of financial support for the roof rather prayers that the officials will step in to stop these hoodlums from preventing the much needed repairs!
