2012 LJM Christmas Card

One way you can help us again this year is to download and print out our Annual 2012 Christmas Card by clicking the link above. By sharing our ministry and this card with your family and friends about what we do, it helps us to reach even more people over here that are struggling in these desperate times by allowing God to speak to hearts as we join in faith praying for those who are chosen to respond to be given the chance to do so.

This is a tri-fold .pdf file of our Christmas Card for 2012. Just print it out on both sides of one piece of paper in color and then fold the right side in and then cover it by folding the left side back across the previous fold to match. Just pass it out to all those who you know would be interested for example those in your church, at work, or family & friends at parties. See the story below for more details on what we will be doing this year for our Annual Christmas Campaign.

God Bless you and thanks for sharing! We are praying for you as always! Merry Christmas!

Annual 2012 Christmas Campaign

November 18, 2012

joyeux-noel-4248170 Unto us a child is born, to us a son is given…. (Is. 9:6)

God gave us His Son, Jesus, so all could come to know the love of the Father through Him. What are we going to do with this great gift? This Christmas you can help us again reach out to the masses of souls in need by supporting our annual Christmas Campaign with your prayers for God to touch the hearts of those whom He wishes to give to us in order that we may reach out with His great love. Your gifts of love will reach many with God’s love and grace. Last year, LJM was able to reach almost 1,100 people because of you. Join us again this year by donating now! We have been given many a child by God and thank all those who support us to help nurture each and everyone of them on a monthly basis. God Bless you very much!

Each gift of love costs us $5 per person to buy, sort, ship, and deliver them all across the region. We distribute toys and food to under-privileged children, blankets & coats to the homeless, and food to the less fortunate all the while blessing the ones in our home with a warm season of joy. We hope to celebrate Christmas for the very first time in the deeply remote rural mountains of Nepal. Your gifts of love also support our many programs and services of outreach to get the message of God’s love to the masses!

We’d appreciate all gifts coming into the office by the week of the 10th of December as last year a lot of our programs were hampered when the gifts came in much later. As this is solely done all by faith we need time in hand to know how much to plan to distribute ahead of time based upon the levels of giving.

Thank you for sharing the love of God with those who live each day without hope!

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 16, 2012

thanksgiving1 God Bless you on this wonderful time of the year to give God thanks and praise for a wonderful harvest and for all He has done for us this year as the world has gone through so much pain and turmoil only to see God is there in the midst ready for all who seek Him to provide according to His goodness, love, mercy and grace! What a bounty indeed! We praise God for you and give Him all the thanks and praise as we pray daily for you!

At this time of year we would like to share the words of the Apostle Paul in hopes you can better understand our hearts:

thanksgiving7 2Co 9:6-15  Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  7  Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  8  And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.  9  As it is written: “He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”  10  Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.  11  You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.  12  This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.  13  Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.  14  And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.  15  Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

thanksgiving4 We are praying today for God “to make all grace abound to you!” We thank Him most of all and you for the scattering of His gifts abroad to the poor and your stores would be greatly increased and your very own harvests would be tremendously enlarged. We pray for you to be rich in every way and that through your generosity in giving to us it will result in many lives giving proper thanks to God! We are praying for that overflow in thanks unto the Lord God in many expressions of faith in the days to come. Because of your obedience which accompanies your confession, we pray for many to praise God for because of your generosity in sharing with so many! Know that many prayers go out for you from so many hearts because of the surpassing grace God has given you! It is indescribable indeed thus we needed Paul’s words by the Holy Spirit to properly express it!  thanksgiving6

Thanking you!

Sincerely,

All of us at LJM!

Prayers for Hurricane Sandy

November 1, 2012

hurricane-sandyIn Isaiah Chapter 8 in the midst of the judgments of God against the local and foreign powers for forsaking God comes the greatest promise ever. Echoes of Eden continue to  ring out true here as the judgment for the fall had come and the pain of sin was revealed, so was the subsequent solution of a promised Savior. Preceding in chapter 7 was the prophet’s daring cry of the arousal of God to sin in demanding the king to ask the Lord God for a sign to show His full compassion and power over wickedness. The king refuses not believing God could possibly bless in such dire straits revealing the utterly hardened state of his soul in refusing God’s redemption and ever tempting the wrath that was to come, but God’s heart shone in the darkness to reveal His pleasure and plan in such persistent and vile refusal of His love. Now that’s mercy!  The pain is subsided as God calls for the virgin to give birth–the birth of all births that will end in such tragedy and travail bringing the entirety of God’s kingdom to its lowest possible point only to rise from the ashes to unveil the grand wisdom and design of such unending love in the highest sense! Life spills forth from the very dregs and depths of the darkest of deaths! Eternal life and the light of all humankind!

hurricane-sandy2_0

Chapter 8 carries the momentum of this majestic message once more while the floods and waters rage; the storms surge; hopes are crushed; many stumble; the atrocities of tragedy mount up on high! In all of this, comes a glimmer to light a darkness so thick it suffocates the reader into shame and absolute despair to drown in an almost damning depression that seems to defy even the most heinous of demonic diatribes! One word shimmers lighting the way of escape for a sorrow and despair that was beyond the shrieks and shakes of even the most mad of beings supernatural or otherwise! This is the context of the blessed and melodious syllables of the only true God who spoke into the darkness and proclaimed, “Light!” at the dawn of our current creation and there was such a glorious and grandeur of conception in the midst of such gloom! One word? One name! “O Immanuel!” (in verse 8.)

praying-1The struggle brings humanity to its most humble beginnings. Not once or twice, but thrice verse 9 screeches the repeated yet wretchedness of the state God’s people. “Shattered!” “Shattered!” Yea once more, “Shattered!” and the plans of flesh are thwarted and nothing can stand before the Holy One; yet He speaks once more into the despair! Why can one not stand? Why are we left so undone? Why must it be so? Why?

In the remaining of the verses of the chapter we are warned of relying upon others and holding to conspiracies! We are not to dread the moment! Why, one must still cry with what little may be left of  hoarse and withered whispers after such appalling tragedy? Why?

Verse 10 tells us, “for God is with us!” Verse 14 continues, for “He is our sanctuary!” Verse 16 reverberates it is His Word and His disciples who are to wait upon the Lord (v. 17). The promise comes to fruition as we become the “signs” this world so desperately needs!

prayersAs a nation in the midst of decision faces one of the worst storms in its history and so many only see the darkness, judgments, and utter gloom as one conspiracy is hailed above another, remember our calling! God is with us! We are His sign in the midst of this present darkness to lead those who would come to Him! To bind up the brokenhearted and to rebuild the old waste places–beauty for ashes (Is. 61).

praying-4All of us at Lord Jesus Ministry here in Asia are praying for you knowing the great tragedy you are all facing. Even as a cyclone of much smaller significance has hit India just last night in the south causing us to share in your pain, we also remember the 2009 storm which hit our region and how you responded with your love, prayers, and support! We remember your constant and ever faithful persistence down through the years in reaching out with God’s love to so many for so long! We know how you the people of the middle class are the biggest givers and how the US is chief in helping others in disaster all across the globe even rebuilding enemies after wars. We know how you have stood with so many of the poor in your own nation while never forgetting the many all across the world in their time of need! You work very hard for your money and invest it very well in those who need it most! And now you are being hit hard, and we come to you with our love & prayers to support you–hoping you are inspired as we very well know without a doubt you will once again rise!

praying-3 O how you suffered when terrorists struck 11 years ago only to see this storm damage you once more. You have faced so many storms in recent years and are weakened by the current global crisis, yet you continue to lead as God’s signs in the desolation and despondency of the god(s) of this world being the signs of the one true God of love, grace, and mercy found at the cross in Jesus Christ!

Thank you for all you do! Know we too are standing with you most especially in this hour and these days! We believe God will help you to be His best spokespersons for His plan in a world on the brink of destruction with all its misery and dejection. When evil has come you continue to overcome evil with good! We are blessed to be in such company! You are such a HUGE blessing to us. A blessed inspiration indeed! We are praying for each and every one in the grip of the terror of such a massive storm whether a victim or a volunteer to bring God’s victory and triumph over trials! We stand with you as you have continually stood with us! God Bless you! We are ever praying for you! We are also asking everyone around the world to join us in prayers as one tragedy after another keeps happening. We were greatly encouraged to hear in the news of others’ response around the world in support of America at this time. This is a time to realize God is in our midst to bring us all together in unity and fellowship with Him and each other!

Just as many today cannot recall the name of the king who brought the tragedy to God’s people in chapter 8 of Isaiah, Hurricane Sandy will also be forgotten in the days ahead. As Chapter 9 of Isaiah ushers in the promise of our Immanuel to come and is ever remembered since its fulfillment, so it will be proclaimed in unending praise throughout all of eternity as all catastrophe is replaced by His Christ! This is the word of the Lord indeed! Amen!

Monsoon Ministry

July 31, 2012

glen-monsoon-ministry-28-july-2012 Recently Carlton was doing some marketing in Kolkata and several of the vendors kept giving him back too much change. One guy had thought Carlton had given him a thousand rupee note when he gave the wrong change (it was actually only a 500 rupee note.) Carlton merely gave him his proper due back rather than consider himself lucky and the vendor an unlucky fool. Another gave fifty too much, while another twenty and then another ten. Carlton was wondering if God was up to something as this was all happening in one single outing that morning. He just kept giving them back the “extra” change

Then later on that night as Carlton was out on the streets, he saw seven hundred rupees lying in the road, yet no one was in sight he could return it to. He wondered to himself, “What kind of game was God trying to play with me?” Knowing things are very tight for everyone here, someone losing that amount of money was seriously no joke. Carlton himself has the ministry to look after as well as his own family’s needs and finances of late have been very tough here on all. It’s the monsoon season here and people are in desperate need crying out for some sort of relief amidst the flooding. What option did Carlton really have?

He prayerfully thought for a moment and decided to try and bless the unknown loser of this money, yet Carlton himself is in great need and on top of that with all his running in the rains in and out, he had contracted a cold of sorts and was fighting fever to boot and in a weakened state. Still he chose to go out the very next day and buy food and put together packets, and then later that afternoon in the rains, he travelled to one of the parts of Kolkata few wish to even think about let alone visit. It was so unsafe there he could not even leave his motorcycle unattended although it is not in the best of shape having been used and abused for so long, still it was all Carlton had working at the moment and he still needed it, so he took along one of the young men named Glen in our program and together they fed children who hang out underneath the bridges and whatnot in hopes of surviving the rains and prayed God would bless the soul who had lost the much needed funds for their “donation” to these unfortunate ones living on the streets with very little hope.

We thank God for making this moment of ministry possible in the midst of all we are facing over here. We do pray for the person who lost their money as well as the children who were and especially for the many more who were not able to be blessed that day. We thank each and every one of you who by your continued prayers and support make moments like these possible. God Bless you for being an integral part of the Body of Christ in support to make this world a better place here in Asia. We have included some video clippings of the day’s ministry of mercy in motion and ask for continued prayers at this crucial time. Thank you all!

The Return of the Monsoon Season

July 11, 2012

monsoon-3 Last year during 2011, Kolkata faced one of the worst monsoon seasons in over a decade. We had asked many of you to join us in praying for all those affected. We were also asked to assist some of the poor families out in the village areas with $20 roof kits to provide them with tarpaulins to cover their roofs and some dry food goods. Thankfully, you responded, and we were able to assist ten families last year!

Once again, West Bengal is facing the current Monsoon Season. We are again receiving calls from all over Nadia (the district where one of our schools is located) asking for prayers and emergency roof kits with tarps to repair temporarily some roofs and offer some dry food goods to help get them through the monsoons until full repairs can be made later!

Each repair will cost us $20 USD. Please pray for all those who are suffering over here. If you can help out, please consider extra donations this month of $20 per roof and earmark your additional gifts for “2012 MONSOONS!”

Many have no homes here in Kolkata and live on the streets and often struggle making it very difficult for them to find some kind of shelter from the terrible torrents which often come in very fast and heavy with very little warning. We ask for prayers and for God to provide the additional required resources for our ministry to be able to reach out to those who are especially in need at this time. God Bless you for your continued & faithful support!

monsoon-4

In addition, the Rixon family is very thankful for all the love, prayers, and support going on for their own roof. The family continues to ask for your prayers as local officials continue to turn a blind eye to the repeated cries of this family because of bullying tactics and injustices by a local man and his political power. The family is still waiting upon their case in the courts before any action can be taken as the authorities are declining to act themselves. An order from the court would force them to act despite any political favoritism.

Please pray their case comes up quickly before the court as it is presently delayed there, so this matter can once and all finally be resolved and long the overdue work can finally begin! Only the court can force them to act or a continuous outcry of the public which embarrasses them into some kind of action. Many letters and emails have brought them finally to some inquiry but at present no action has been taken.

2012 Pan-India Karate Tournament

May 31, 2012
karate-3

In May of this year, most all of our students took advantage of the summer holiday due to extreme heat conditions here to go visit relatives while on break. Most of the US has experienced very similar conditions in one of the hottest summers on record as 2012′s first half was considered the warmest on record! While on holiday, five of our students participated in a Pan-India Karate Tournament where karate students from all across the country gathered and competed in a full-fledged karate tournament. Three of our students were able to bring home trophies! We are so excited for them and their great efforts! Congratulations!

karate-4

Very early each morning after devotions, our students take training in karate to offer them an understanding of discipline and focus to have gain control over their own bodies and help them to learn how they can do so much more with themselves than they thought possible. It is very healthy for both the mind and body. We would like to thank everyone who is supporting us to enhance the lives of our students so they can see that they can go far and achieve great things when they put their heart and soul into it!
